We (Rodney, Brian, and me, Holly) left Rutland at around 8 am today for our baseball road trip. The idea has been met with reactions from: "How cool!!!" to "hmm... 3 people, two beds, can I come along too?" to "WHY?" and, our favorite: "You mean, they still are playing baseball?"Anyway, after months of planning we have begun the adventure. This is our hotel in Niagara Falls:

Our first leg, to Niagara Falls, Ontario, was long but uneventful. We enjoyed listening to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban on the way. Our motel is very nice and is the closest one to the falls so the view from our window is just amazing. (see top photo - that is from our room!)
We hiked around town and went down to the falls to ooh and aah and take pictures. Just magnificent!! Breathtaking!! WOW!!
Niagara Falls is an interesting place, a marriage between this incredible piece of nature and rampant tourism. Being good consumers, we took advantage of both. After a yummy dinner at a pub we headed for the casino. Rodney managed to parlay his $20 to over $60!!. Brian and I were not so lucky but had fun anyway.
Tomorrow we are going to do one of the up close and personal tours of the falls then will head to our next venue, Toronto. This IS a baseball road trip, after all. We are going to Rogers Center to see the Blue Jays vs. Angels.

I agree! The boys and I will be following with great interest! How long will this adventure take??
Joe and I are green with envy. It's gotten us thinking about our next vacation (says Joe: What Vacation?!)
Hey you guys. This is great! A vicarious vacation; and I really need it. Terrific shot of the falls, wonderful rainbows; it all sounds ideal... except for the baseball.
